Signage design and way-finding system for city park
As well as being clear and informative, signage must be designed according to the needs of the space. Aragon Park is the 2nd largest green space in Mexico City. In 2011 it was partially abandoned, unsafe, and in a severe state of deterioration. In this project we worked in coordination with a diverse group of specialists to transform the park into a functional and beautiful space.
The challenge was to design modern signage and urban furniture elements which required minimum maintenance. They must be highly resistant and unappealing to vandals. We began with a research and analysis stage, allowing us to understand and determine exactly what was needed. During the design phase we developed a full way-finding system. The signage included information posts, directional signs and maps. We used powder-coated steel and industrial porcelain enamel for maximum durability.
