Ludic Object for National Park Refurbishment Program

With this eye-catching interactive design from a simple 2D logo, our client achieved considerable brand interaction and recognition. This project was a custom design for the Ministry for Social Development (SEDESOL). Our client wanted to turn their colourful logo into an emblematic 3D object. After extensive searching, they found that companies offered little more than to add the logo onto an existing piece of  playground equipment. When they failed to find a solution, they approached Neko because of our experience creating innovative, unique designs. They wanted us to go a step further and propose a different solution.

The shape and colours of the logo make it ideal for play equipment. We converted it into a three-dimensional climbing structure, while still maintaining the essence of the logo. Although not specified in the brief, we ensured it complied fully with US guidelines for playground safety. We designed the result meticulously to optimise production processes and reduce cost, ensuring that mass production would be a smooth process. The government selected our design as the official emblem for the nationwide ‘Rescue of Public Spaces’ Program. We manufactured and installed over 1200 pieces throughout Mexico in parks which had benefited from the program. Often such projects are marked with a simple plaque or sign. With our innovative approach and eye-catching design, our client achieved much greater brand interaction and recognition.
